On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of specialty libraries, documentation and information in Egypt assessed Cairo University - Faculty of Arts - Department of Libraries, documents and information in collaboration with the Center for Research Information Systems and Services and the Egyptian Association for Information and Library and Archive conference entitled "Fifty Years on specialty libraries, documentation and information in Egypt: Challenges reality and prospects future "in the period 2-4 April 2001 and will sponsor a conference. d. Najib Hilali essence) President of Cairo University (and chaired a. D. Ahmed Hassan Ibrahim) Dean of the Faculty of Arts (University of Cairo. 1 - shed light on the current status of the specialty libraries and documents in Egypt and the Arab world.
2 - examine the challenges faced by specialty libraries, documentation and information in Egypt and the Arab world at the level of thought and consideration, and raise the level of performance of facilities to be able to provide information services to all who need it.
3 - foreseeing future prospects specialty libraries, documentation and information in Egypt and the Arab world in the light of the transformation that the world is witnessing a "information society" in order to monitor changes and impacts of this transition, particularly regarding the role of information facilities in achieving the objectives of this society.
There will be events associated with the conference are summarized in the papers and reports and field applications and subject all the papers submitted to the Conference of Arbitration scientific, and there testimonials offered pioneers specialization and workers where all their memories and opinions of the reality of specialization and future, in addition to performances of the systems and software provided by companies and institutions involved in technological applications in libraries and documentation The Archive, in addition to the exhibition of equipment and furniture used in libraries and information centers and the role of archive documents. |
