Abstract : The addition of tetracyanoethylenc and 7.7.8.8-1etracyanoquinodimelhane 1.3.3- lrimethyl-2-melhylcneindoJine 1 resulted in the formation of two novel compounds. 9 and 10 respectively. And not the expected products. 5 and 6. Compound 9 is dark brown. Whereas 10 is deep blue-green on increasing the solvent's polarity. Compounds 10 showed remarkable red shift but compound 9 did not
