Abstract : The geographical distribution of diarrheal disease among children less than five years in Jeddah, in 2002-2003 m (1423) study in geographic medical summary is of diarrheal disease is a global problem and causes about 4% of the total of all deaths worldwide and 5% of health loss to disability. and more common causes of diarrhea, gastro-intestinal infections, and the number of deaths due to diarrheal disease in 1998, an estimated 2,2 million, was mostly of children under five years of age (WHO 2000) and the symptom of diarrhea caused by a range of micro-organisms, whether parasitic, viral or bacterial, and spread mainly through contaminated water, and common infection when there is a shortage of clean water for drinking and cooking or cleaning, and aggravated by poor personal hygiene, and food caused by Another key of diarrhea when it is prepared or stored in unhygienic conditions. Given the importance of diarrheal disease and to identify the spatial distribution has in Jeddah were conducted a descriptive study included all children registered in primary health centers in Jeddah. The study found that the number of cases of diarrheal disease in children less than five years and who have reviewed the health centers in Jeddah has reached 4479 cases, including 2471 cases (55.2%) in the age group less than a year and 2008 cases (44.8%) in the age of 1 -5 years. The incidence rate of 86/1000 for children less than a year and 20/1000 in the age group of 1-5 years. The majority of minor injuries (91%) compared to medium injuries (8%) and severe (1%). It was noted that there is variation in the rates of incidence and patterns of disease among the living. Ranged incidence of diarrhea in children less than a year between 2.9/1000 in the neighborhood of Knoll, which is located in the north east of Jeddah child to 734/1000 children in the neighborhood of the gap, which is located in the south of Jeddah, the percentages of occurrence of diarrhea in children in the age group of 1 -5 years between 0.95/1000 children in the neighborhood of Knoll also to 377/1000 children in the neighborhood Alqosen which is located in the south of Jeddah. The number of severe cases, three cases in children less than a year, including one case in the district or the peace in southern Jeddah and two in the neighborhood east of the highway, as the number of severe cases in children in the age group of 1-5 years of cases, including three cases in the district or peace, the study concluded that the variation in the rates of incidence and the different types of diarrheal disease among children in both age group less than a year or age group of 1-5 years can be attributed to differences in socio-economic level between the neighborhoods of Jeddah, in general, where the highest incidence rates in the neighborhood-level social and economic low when compared to the slum-level social and economic high
