CEOR Vision:

To be known among the leading international research centers to promote and conduct studies and research in the diagnosis and treatment and management of osteoporosis and improve the quality of life and health and the transfer of biotechnology to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

  • To excel according to internationally accepted standards of scientific excellence, cutting-edge, innovative, interactive multidisciplinary research studies and the creation of new knowledge in the diagnosis, therapy and management of osteoporosis.
  • Facilitate the translation of basic research findings into clinical practice and provide the environment for postgraduate education, care and training programs.
  • To expand awareness and enhance knowledge and understanding of osteoporosis to maximize prevention for those at risk.
  • Encourage the transfer of developed technologies and therapies to enable
    biotechnology ventures that provide know-how and stimulate regional economic development.

CEOR Objectives:

  •  Be an international collaborative center of excellence in the study and research of osteoporosis that embraces innovative research strategies with continuous quality improvement in outcomes.
  • Conduct and promote new and innovative research studies in relation to the
    diagnosis, management and therapy of osteoporosis.
  • Develop and conduct osteoporosis research studies, using cutting-edge, innovative, interactive, and multidisciplinary approaches that include but not limited to the following research programs:
  • steoporosis Stem Cell Research Program.
  • steoporosis Clinical Trial Research Program.
  • steoporosis and Oral Health Research Program.
  • steoporosis, Biomarkers and Pharmacogenomics Research Program.
  • steoporosis Core Research Program.
  • Foster a culture of multidisciplinary collaboration between researchers and research groups within KAU’s different faculties, as well as with other national and international universities, research centers, biotechnology industry and the community.
  • Capitalize on the rich intellectual diversity of the academic staff and scientists in health sciences at KAU and Saudi Arabia.
  • Facilitate the translation, transfer and real life application of research findings that enhance the quality of life of patients with or at high risk of osteoporosis.
  • Provide state-of-the-art education opportunities for medical and allied health sciences students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and visiting scientists in the various domains of osteoporosis research programs.
  • Develop and promote advanced professional training programs and research offerings to the learning needs in relation to osteoporosis diagnosis, management and therapy in Saudi Arabia.
  • Help building an expanding cadre of health educators, biomedical scientists, and other specialists in the field of osteoporosis research and biotechnology.
  • Promote collaboration and partnerships between KAU and public and private healthcare providers in relation to osteoporosis care.
  • Participate in the transfer of biotechnology to Saudi Arabia and support biotechnology industrial links and protection of intellectual property and discovery.
  • Building on our inherent strengths and capabilities to develop CEOR that will distinguish KAU among the leading national and international universities.
  • To serve as a consultative resource for the studies of osteoporosis information and training needed by health care communities in Saudi Arabia.
  • To increase the awareness about osteoporosis among:
  • Health care professionals including primary and subspecialty physicians, nurses,
  • nutritionist and other healthcare workers
  • Public and private healthcare providers
  • Legislators and governmental agencies
  • General population
  • Provide expert consultant ship or committee membership to both national and international agencies, as well as biotechnology industries engaged in osteoporosis care and research development.
  • Provide a socioeconomic perspective to the CEOR’s activity
